Hair Today

Or now for something completely different. And frivolous. After weeks of working too many extra-long days I found myself, miraculously, with a day off. I spent the morning with the little man…but the afternoon was all about me. Felt a little guilty about it, but mommy needed a little time to herself. So mommy wouldn’t lose it. Completely. Started out the “afternoon of me” by catching a matinee. I love motherhood, but, in my book, missing out on movies is one of the major drawbacks. So I sneak off to movies any chance I get…which isn’t terribly often. This day I saw MIIB. I think I liked the first one more, but it was still an enjoyable distraction. Afterwards I treated myself to lunch. On my way there I paused to take this photo, to capture my last afternoon as a blonde.

Although I enjoyed my months disguised as a blonde, it was time for a change. So after lunch it was on to the salon. For “corrective color”. I knew it would take a while, but dang. After over an hour we were still only halfway there when I took this photo:

We’d had to dye all my hair bright orange before sectioning off chunks in aluminum foil (also helps jam signals so the aliens couldn’t locate me for a few hours, you know) prior to dyeing the rest back to my natural black. Here is the end result:

After 3+ hours I was so ready to leave…but at least I was pleased with the new do. And next time shouldn’t be nearly so painful as my color has now been “corrected”. Or something.
