Last week Lockergnome reported some unlikely new uses for the Power of USB. Specifically, a USB toothbrush, USB coffee warmer and, finally, a USB electric blanket. The latter was just obtained by a co-worker of mine. Not sure what Consumer Reports would have to say about it. After “warming” up for some time it was barely above room temperature. The poor thing put out less heat than my son’s Moulinex coffee maker…which discharges lukewarm liquid, at best. But that’s powered by two AA batteries. Just how much power is USB capable of putting out? Answers are welcome. At any rate, I’d hate to see how the USB coffee “warmer” performs. Though I would be willing to test it. For the sake of science, of course.
