Heck On Wheels

We’re such social butterflies this weekend. Started the day out with breakfast at the Seward, with friends who won’t be in town, let alone the country, for much longer. One is heading back to Beijing, another to Benin, and a third is about to start her Peace Corps gig in Paraguay. We hadn’t even laid eyes on this last galpal in three years, but the little man latched on to her straight away. The boy is such a flirt. We decided to skip their post-breakfast activity, though. Rollerskating at the Roller Gardens. I would have happily joined them some evening, without the little man. I fear he would pose too much of a risk to himself, and to others, if he were put on wheels. He’s dangerous enough without them. Instead it’s back to seriously cleaning the house, as we’re having dinner guests this evening. Two of our favorite regulars, plus one’s parents. Seems everyone is coming to town lately, but few folks are staying. Our bitterly cold negative wind chill temps help see to that.
