It’s been such a strange and disheartening week, and not just stateside. But I’m finding I have precious little patience or energy for post-election discussion/dissection just now. Not for those who would stay and continue to fight for change in this country, or for those who would flee. As usual, overload makes my brain disengage. Must be a self-preservation mechanism. So my brain has instead shifted into NaNoWriMo overdrive, the first challenge that has kept me so focused and content in quite some time. Which means that it may end up the focus of my blogging for the month, but I will try not to be too boring about it. Now that I’m spending my creative energies writing I haven’t been photographing anything. I’ll try to rectify that, but my camera currently doesn’t fit in my messenger bag when my laptop sleeve is in it. With my luck I will be out on one of my morning walks to or from my designated writing locations, and suddenly spot the most amazing scene, with the most compelling subject and fabulous lighting, and be powerless to capture it. That’s how it goes, I guess. At least I’m getting my words out.
Bonus: Ohio Lawn of Dischord. It’s just a shame it didn’t work.
Bonus bonus: If you’re interested in a different kind of politics, Cheek pointed out Pete Scholtes’ full scoop on the First Avenue fiasco…in which my good friend’s twin brother busts out the effenheimer an awful lot. But who can blame him.
