I’m down sick with a head cold and have been in a fog all day. Even lost my voice for a bit this morning, which seriously confused the little man. I was feebly gesturing and croaking, trying to indicate that he should go downstairs to eat breakfast. Thankfully the husband stepped in. He packed the lad’s lunch and drove him to the bus stop. I am in no shape to be driving. And since the guys appear to be healthy I suspect I picked this crud up the other day when I went to the clinic (for an unrelated health issue). Grrr. The weekend is officially shot. We’ve had to cancel plans we made for this evening. But it’s not the end of the world, even though I’ve been on a post-apocalyptic kick all week. Monday night I watched Shaun of the Dead. Wednesday night I watched 28 Days Later. And last night I started re-reading my trade paperbacks of Y: The Last Man. I’d say the Evil Dead movies should be next but I have to admit, I don’t own them. Perhaps I’ll just stare at the ceiling some more until I drift back to sleep…

What, no George Romero marathon?
I know how you feel, sick, ack! The Evil Dead movies are awesome. I actually like Army of Darkness the best, then EDII, then EDI. Bruce Campbell is awesome. How is Y: The Last Man? I’ve been wanting to check that series out for a while now.
First, I have a confession to make. I have somehow avoided the George Romero movies for years now. I generally can’t do straight-up horror. It has to be horror with a twist - like comedy (like Hong Kong’s Bio Zombie), or more of a science fiction angle. One of these days I should prolly just sit down and watch Night of the Living Dead…
And yeah, summer colds suck. But you got over yours EE, and I will hopefully be on the mend soon too. I adore everything about Bruce Campbell! If Chins Could Kill was a freaking fantastic read. You should totally check out Y: The Last Man. Love that series. The creator is actually working on a screenplay right now, and would like to see Topher Grace in the lead role. That makes me go “meh” but we’ll see, I guess.
george romero rules! i can’t believe you have been avoiding him! dawn of the dead was filmed in the monroeville mall, the same mall that i was almost kidnapped in as a child, the very mall where i was a mall rat for so many years. gah. i don’t know if i can still speak to you. why must you ignore the pittsburgh zombies?!?!?!
Dude, don’t blame me, blame my Dad. I love the guy, but being introduced to Fangoria magazine at the tender age of six or seven put me off horror films entirely. It was only Bruce Campbell’s charisma that eased me into the Evil Dead movies, which led to Bio Zombie, Shaun of the Dead, etc.
Greetings! Your site has very much impressed me. I wish to share with you beautiful things. Look here http://www.settune.com there is a tremendous picture! Excuse for troubling, if it is not pleasant to you.
