I would like to take a moment to remind my readers that Sharyn Morrow isn’t just a D-List internet personality. I am a real live person! This public service announcement is mainly for those who know me in the real world, but seem to keep up with me via this blog and twitter and flickr only. As much as I adore the internet, online social networking is not a substitute for actual interaction. Something I was reminded of after a particularly lonely weekend of non-stop single parenting (aside from an all too brief game of Zombie Jesus Day bowling with friends). So please remind me that I’m not speaking into the void. Give a girl a shout! If you don’t have time to hang out, at least leave a comment here or drop me a line to let me know what’s up in your world. This can be a two-way street. Thank you.
Five good things for this decidedly mixed Monday:
- Everyone knows Isabella Rossellini is amazing but her Green Porno has only made me love her more. Now with a second season! These short films on animal sexual behavior contain too many choice quotes to choose from…like “a penis has disadvantages in water.”
- Speaking of water, two reactions to the Somali pirates. 1) You are being lied to about Pirates and 2) The Somali Pirates’ Guide to Flourishing Without Getting Killed by America.
- I’m way behind the times. Hadn’t even heard of Datarock until last week. This computer camp video is a couple of years old, but I find it amusing now. Also nerdy, and on opposite ends of the spectrum…sexy tech - Master Blasters: Science Fiction Weapons to Die For and How to solve a printer problem (with a kitteh!)
- Saturday, April 18th is Record Store Day. Unfortunately I may miss the entire span of it as I’m photo-assisting a wedding. But I could wrap up with enough time to check out an old friend’s art opening: RGB Color Theory by Nate Reiman.
- Just discovered Sjaak’s vegan chocolate (have not yet sampled it) and I’m thinking of veganizing this apple peach pie recipe. After my impending pizza burger experiments, of course.
Also? Today marks the birthdays of two lovely men, who are friends, and happened to have been born on the EXACT SAME DAY. Spooky. Happy Birthday Dave and Nils!

I am feeling so guilty. I read your blog via Google Reader daily and am too lazy/busy/fillintheblank to comment sometimes. Bad Giyen! BAD!
Oh, no worries! I do the same thing. So many blogs I read on a regular basis and I consider commenting and don’t.
Yesterday I was just feeling overwhelmed on all fronts. Some heavy chunks of unhappiness piled up and broke the dam. Slightly better today.
I’m looking forward to your pizza burger experimentation. Have I been living under a rock that I’d never heard of them before?
Hope things are looking up!
