I pick up our apartment keys today. And pay rent. For the first time since 1999. This is really happening. Though I still have no idea what is happening with the house we’re moving out of.
Five things I do know with great certainty:
- Halloween at Clockwork was a wonderful thing, as usual. This year featured Clockworkers dressing up in Internet Meme costumes (and me taking photos of them).
- This is pretty awesome…my son, delivering “fake news” in MPR studios.
- This weekend the second annual Minneapolis Indie Xpo will be held at The Soap Factory. Last year’s was fabulous - though too steamy hot. Which is why it’s happening in November this year instead of August. Here’s an interview with MIX director Sarah Morean.
- I think I failed to mention it…but October was National Pizza Month. I made a fair number of pizzas at home during the month and my son had Pizza Luce every week with my ex, as usual. And most recently we took Punch up on their annual “Day of the Dead Pizza” offer.
- National Novel Writing Month kicks off again today. But I will just be standing by the sidelines this year. And maybe waving occasionally. And thinking wistfully about the Werewolf Cop novel I hope to one day finish.
Hoping by next week there will be fewer stressors triggering my 4am anxiety attacks. I hope to be happily moved in and unpacked/unpacking at the new place. And to know more about my house situation. And to have my Canon 5d back from the manufacturer (it’s been away for three weeks now, being repaired). But near-future stressors include my son’s annual IEP review at school and follow-up dental appointments with the autism dental specialist we met with yesterday. It’s always something.
