After years of dragging my feet I finally set up a mint.com account and entered all my info and now it’s scolding me! Thanks, mint. It’s no news that my checking account balance is LOW. Or that I spend too much on rent and groceries. But the pie chart representing these facts sure is pretty.
Five good things on this bitterly cold Thursday:
- It may be freezing cold but this little video warms my heart: Slow Loris eating a rice ball
- I should stop daydreaming about warmer climes. Videos like this aren’t helping. The Perennial Plate always makes me hunger for both food and travel. Sigh.
- How about traveling INSIDE YOUR MIND? Prepare to have your mind BLOWN. Play around with The Scale of the Universe.
- My co-worker / friend Michael Opperman reviews two local puppet productions, both celebrating the natural world. I’m planning to take my son to the latter, possibly this weekend, but the Oscar-nominated animated short films will be showing at the Uptown Theater starting tomorrow too.
- We have a dilemma for next Thursday night. The wonderful Riverview Theater will be showing this amazingness - Raiders: The Adaptation - a shot-for-shot remake of Raiders of the Lost Ark done by two 12 year-olds in 1982. I really want to see that. But it will also be Social Science night at the Science Museum of MN and this time the theme is In the Dark. Yep, we can wander around the museum in the dark with glow sticks and whatnot. And alcohol. How fun will that be?
After school today the boy and I have to rush off to Twin Cities Magic & Costume. To their newest location (they moved again, dammit). Bought a Groupon for Halloween but never got around to using it. The danged thing expires today and they’re only open until 6pm. Oh no, I don’t procrastinate much.
